F. O. BLACK FAMILY REUNION 2008!!!!!!!

F. O. BLACK FAMILY REUNION

We are happy to announce the upcoming 51st meeting of the Francis Orlando Black Family Reunion.

The reunion will commence at 9:30 AM, Saturday, June 14th, 2008, outside the Reedy Branch Baptist Church, in the cemetery where John W. Edwards, grandson of George W. Black, will offer prayer. At the conclusion, flags will be placed on the graves. Registration will follow immediately afterward.

As you register this year, remember to include your email address or your current home address. Please include any other family members that might not be present. Also, contact David Habel or Talbert Black, Jr. about changes to your family: marriages, births, deaths, etc.

As in years past, we will honor several of those in attendance: The oldest and youngest male and female. The couples who have been married the longest and shortest amount of time, and the person or persons who has traveled the furthest from their permanent home. In addition, we will honor the best costume for this year's theme, Flag Day. There will be drawings for door prizes, and prizes for games, this year's GRAND PRIZE is a 37 inch Flat Screen Television. So everyone, get your tickets to have a great chance at wonderful family prize.

We also have a few of the 50th Anniversary Hats, and some T-shirts left from last year that will also be available for those who did not have the opportunity to purchase one last year.

The cooking contest will be as it was last year: desserts in all the same age groups, 12 and under, 13 to 17, and 18 and over. Please have your entries to be judged in by 11:30 AM. However, we still urge everyone to cook plenty of food: meats, vegetables, casseroles, and the like, so that eating and visiting with all family members will take place.

There has been talk of playing softball nearby after lunch. And again games will be played inside with prizes given to the winners.

Talbert Black, Jr. will be conducting the meeting this year, as the President, Jim Edwards, will be attending his daughter's wedding out of state.

Remember to bring any military photos you may have of family members WHO have served our country in the armed services. We have a special plan for those at the 2009 Family Reunion.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Reedy Branch Baptist Church in Barnwell, SC.
